Reset Offline Dispensers

Aug 11, 2026

When a dispenser goes offline, the problem can extend beyond the forecourt. Customers who cannot fuel may leave for another location, potentially impacting both fuel sales and convenience store purchases. And when restoring service requires a technician to travel to the site, even a relatively simple issue can result in hours of downtime.
In many cases, the equipment itself may not have failed. A dispenser can lose communication with the site controller following an internet outage or other interruption, causing it to lock up and prevent fueling. Restoring communication may simply require the equipment to be power cycled.

Does Every Outage Require a Service Call?

Traditionally, resetting equipment requires someone to physically access the site and power cycle the affected device. That can mean contacting a maintenance provider, dispatching a technician, and waiting for someone to arrive before the dispenser can return to service.
For problems that can be resolved with a simple reset, that process adds time and expense to an otherwise straightforward fix. OVERSITE™ provides operators with another option.

RESTORE DISPENSERS REMOTELY WITH OVERSITE™

OVERSITE™ gives operators remote visibility and control of connected site equipment, allowing them to respond to certain outages without immediately sending someone to the location.

When a dispenser loses communication and requires a reset, operators can remotely power cycle the affected equipment through OVERSITE™. Instead of waiting hours for a maintenance technician to arrive, the dispenser can potentially be restored to operation within minutes.

For equipment that must be restarted in a specific order, OVERSITE™ can also use pre-programmed power sequencing to bring connected systems back online in the proper cadence.

The result is a faster response to common outage conditions and less time with equipment unavailable to customers.
